Hi all. I am looking to change my current lead acid batteries to Lithium. My current set up is as follows, - 2 x 105ah lead acid batteries. Victron 30amp B2B charger. 270watt solar. Epever 20amp MTTP charge controller. Standard on board battery charger. If I upgrade the batteries to Lithium will I need to change/add anything else? Thanks.

You will probably need to change the mains charger, providing your solar controller has a Lithium profile it will be OK.

I will be following this, as I have read different things about what is needed or not for lithium batteries… there is another post running at the moment with an eco tree installation where not all the usual advise is being followed, and it will be interesting to see what happens.

Typical motorhome mains chargers generally will not fully charge a LiFePO4, but, in my mind that's no problem.
You rarely want to fully charge a Li battery especialy on EHU, the B2B and MPPT is where you need a Li profile. Lithium usage generally goes hand in hand with off grid usage.

What is it about the charger that is different? The charge profile? I am Interested as KS say you can drop straight in https://www.ksenergy.co.uk/lithium-leisure-battery-drop-in-replacement
The charging voltage may not be correct, they have an absorbtion phase then after that they change to a float charge which gives a 13.5/13.8v charge.
With Lithium once the battery is charged to the set voltage to charger should turn off this doesn't happen with the standard charger fitted to Motorhomes.

IMO A drop in replacement is just marketing BS. OK they will work but you won't get the best out of them or the longest life.

Most people fit Lithium because they do a lot of off grip camping so need the best out of the batteries and the fast recharge rate. What's the point of fitting them if you don't make use of their advantages.
