Am in a 2016 Autosleeper Nuevo. The LPG tank is empty having been full before and not used, although fridge was briefly on gas when parked up en route to here;internal stop cocks have been in Off position until I went to make toast this morning, and had to settle for bread!

Am near Fort William travelling to Inverness on Monday. When I set off week ago tank was full, have been over no rough ground, tank and valve look ok, tank definitely empty as per gauge and when tapped sounds empty. Mobile engineer coming to pressure test it tomorrow, whatever the result just want to know I am safe.

Can anyone recommend LPG system specialist/technician in Inverness? Have checked out Fort William, no joy there.

Any advice/suggestions much appreciated, thanks.

Google Autogas or LPG installation locally? Most fitters happy to check and test. Gauges are notoriously poor on gas tanks.

An underslung tank takes a while to fully empty and the smell is hard to miss, had a mate whose valve failed whilst we were camped together and you could smell it for hours

Could try Highland Campervans - they are about 15 mins drive from Inverness - out towards the airport.

Are you sure it was actually full?
Did you fill it before the trip or are you relying on the gauge ?
Most lpg guys haven’t got a clue when in comes to underslung LPG tanks .

The slightest leak really stinks, seems unlikely that you wouldn't notice a big leak. Possibly tank is still full and regulator has failed. This happened to me and I couldn't understand why the log pump wouldn't fill.

You would actually be amazed at how many people don’t smell a leak though 🥴
And yes it’s normally the fridge that stops working first with a regulator failure.
We always tell people to light all hob burners / oven then fire up the heater.
Gauge on the tank itself is worth looking at too .

Thanks all, mobile moho engineer did pressure test today and thinks it’s the regulator. Said to put 10L in tomorrow and if not gas getting through then regulator is suspect. Recommended a place in Elgin…?

Can you stand outside of the van and smell gas? We had the same problem and it turned out that the connection on the tank had been over tightened and the rubber O ring had been damaged, Hope that helps?

Unlikely but possible. The connector on our tank had been overtightened (I think) and failed with a crack, allowing leakage. gas is heavier than air so it leaked downwards. 40 litres disappeared with no smell and fortunately no explosion.
