Propane gas bottles appear to be like rocking horse Pooh atm can’t find one in 6, 11 or 13 kg calor, or flogas new or 2nd hand, I bet there are loads at the back of garages and sheds up and down the country, so frustrating.

I got given one recently and another I bought off faceache marketplace for a small fee. 👍

There are a few advertised on Gumtree.

Also consider getting a butane (blue) bottle because Morrisons will allow you to exchange it for a propane bottle.
Yeah I keeping checking our local ad sites and market place, good to know about Morrison’s our local one doesn’t do fuel so no gas bottles there. I’ll find out where our nearest one is that do gas.

Go to you local tip, ask the lads and if your luck you might find a nearly full one.

It’s taken me just over 5 years to get rid of three 13kg propane cylinders. I finally gave the last two to my neighbour for his super ser heater in his garage. Nobody wanted them. I literally struggled to give them away.

Agree with Simon, local tip is best, usually a tenner for the tea fund as a contribution, u are not buying then, go to go outdoors or wherever and do exchange. Just have to be discreet.

Marketplace on Facebook. Plenty around Peterborough

I’ve got these I was going to sell for £30. Small one nearly full and 6kg also has some gas in it. Could be headed down that way on the 27th. Message me if you’re interested. All in good nick.

Telephone the Peterborough Flogas depot and see if they have stocks? I am going to Thetford bash and wouldn't mind taking one for you if you arrange. My work takes me to Oxford sometimes too.

Thanks folks, we may have sourced one but illlet you know Marty Gilly and Pup if we need to take you up on your offer,
Our local tip is unbelievably strict and unbending in their rules 🤔

Hi Billylyne5
Sorry but we’ve sold them now. Have to leave our apartment in a few days so fire sale time unfortunately. Sure there’s plenty out there though. Good luck

I’ve got a 6kg and a 3.9 kg if any one wants them both empty £20 collect only

Our tip has loads, but will not sell them due to Elf & Safety regulations, so they say !!
My tip is the same and operated by a French company. Can't get near anything and it's posh; the site having been redesigned a couple of years ago and rebuilt including a travellers' site. I reckon the tip staff have private arrangements for the cylinders which are kept in a locked cage. There's a scrappy a mile up the road (one of my old school chums) for vehicle batteries (a tenner for each), copper pipe and other recyclable metals. Handy that I can use his weighbridge FOC!

Just got 6kg and 3.9kg propane refills from the Chepstow dept of Calor. They seemed to have plenty of all sorts. Perhaps I was just lucky, or perhaps the shortages are localised? Or are they only allowing refills and not new buys? - which I guess is what the original post was about.

I was lucky enough to get a 13 and 6kg this week from different places

I refill mineat local petrol station small cost to price of exchanging bottle

Bought a 6kg refill yesterday from my village shop, they said they had been told by Calor not to sell any gas bottles, only exchange as refills as there is a shortage of gas bottles.

I'm surprised how many have suggested getting one from a tip. Have they actually managed to get on that way, I wonder, or is it a myth? It's difficult enough to dump anything at my tip, let alone take anything away, and you're certainly not invited to roam around looking to see what's there.

Yes I regularly help myself at the tip. Last time got an almost full patio gas. Before i had refillables i kept 2 no 13 kg calor and the same from our local firm cheshire gas. Also use patio gas for bbq and 19 kg propane at work so was always juggling bottles.

I’ve got two 13kg Calor Gas cylinders, which are empty, free for the taking, here in St Albans. :gum:
