My Conti Camper tyres are due for replacement soon, but before choosing new tyres I would appreciate comment on any brands which Members have found to run more quietly. Fiat 130 3500kg Swift Escape.

With all the rattles in my van I wouldn’t know if I was running on rims.....

A good tyre website will give you a good selection to choose from and they have a noise rating to go with the tyres..(y)

If the road is worn out I doubt the noise level of the tyres is much different.

Hankooks.. We could not believe the difference !!!!!

It is not the noise, it is the crashing and banging from holes in the road, the tyres seem to have no absorbtion of the holes and the diameter I would have thought would bridge most little ones but it seems they just transfer the bump straight to my backside on the seat. It was even worse when the tyre were at the dealer pressure setting of 80psi I dropped the front to 50 and the rears to 60 as recommended by Continental for the weights. Stopping on the M3 the other day and on the M25 I noticed the gaps between the concrete section were 4" wide and devoid of the filling which had gone from most altogether, this gave a bonk, bonk ,bonk, bonk, all the time whe driving. Very tiresome.

SNAP!

Had Continental tyres on the last Ducato (X250), and now have Michelins on the current van (X290) - both fitted as standard from new.

Have similarly lowered the tyre pressures, but the suspension still crashes all over the place, especially at the back.

I wonder if it's because they are designated camper tyres with reinforced side walls? Or do all Ducatos have the same harsh ride?

I’m with the Hankook gang

Thanks all. Looks like Hankook will be worth a try.
And by the way, I too loathe the concrete sectors on the M25and M3. It seems to be the resonance between the length of the concrete slabs and the wheelbase of the van. Not quite as bad in the car.
