Hi

Just taken my van down to weigh bridge, first trip out since lockdown AND buying the damn thing!

I have a couple of questions:

1. Whenever I switch off the van it beeps away at me, no idea why, any thoughts?

2. When I turn off the ignition and remove the keys, I notice the radio stays ON, surely this is wrong, several times when I have been fiddling over lockdown I have forgotten to turn it off for a couple of days!

Would appreciate any ideas how to fix or identify the issue on the above points.

If it's like our 745 Harmony

1) Is it auto. If so it may be that you are not switching off in gear.
2) Correct. Radio does not need ignition on so you can use it when using the hab area. You have to manually switch off.

Is it the fridge that’s beeping telling you 12v is off

Afternoon Robin
Re the radio, as mentioned above, the (very dusty) radio in our Burstner needs to be switched off manually with a 2 second press of the centre button....

Re the beeping, when we first got ours, there was an annoying beeping when we reached a certain speed (it was set at 20mph!!)

I seem to rememer we sorted it by toggling it in the settings menu. Perhaps there is something in there to allow you to switch something off

Good Luck, enjoy your Burstner!! (y) :giggle:

It is an auto box.

Not switching off in gear?

Are you saying I should be in gear when I turn off the ignition?

The beeping will be the alarm telling you your fresh water tank is empty. Go to the control panel, select "pump" and select off, that should silence it.

I don't think it is coming from the habitation area, it is coming from the dashboard area.

It makes the beeping noise wen pump is on or off and tank full or empty! :-(

The radio on our ducato has menu settings for radio to either turn off or will stay on for 20 mins.

I believe so. Turn off in a gear or reverse. Try that. I think the alarm is to tell you that you have switched off in neutral.

Thanks everyone, I will try switching off in gear.

But it does sound counter intuitive and goes against everything I have done in a car!

I have an Apache 700 (2012) which also beeps about 5/6 times after turning the ignition off. Mine is also an auto (Comfort-matic) and the User Guide does say "For safety reasons, a buzzer warning sounds when the vehicle is parked with the gearbox in neutral (N) (the warning sounds when the ignition key is turned to
STOP)".

Right or wrong (answers please!), I always park with gearbox in Neutral and handbrake on.

My Ducato automatic beeps unless it is in Neutral when I stop. I then change to 1 - not auto 1 - to hopefully lock the gearbox as I don't put the handbrake on. I use chocks.
The radio is a separate switch so, as someone has said, you can use it when parked up.
You can adjust the speed warning beep in the onboard computer, mine is set to 75.
All fun and games!!!

Most auto boxes have P for park and need to be in this for safe switch off.
Also see riverbankannie regards Radio.

It's a comformatic auto box. Robotic! So it can be auto 1, 2, 3 etc. or manual i.e. 1, 2, 3 etc.
There's no P for park so I leave it in first gear.
Our original radio/ sat nav was cr*p so we changed it for a Pioneer unit. So much better ,,,

Is it the Fridge, complaining because it is trying to use gas, but gas isn't switched on?
The Radio, we had same problem on our Ixeo, you have to press and maybe hold the SRC button to switch it off, if its the older style radio. Of course they dont tell you that when you buy it.

If it is an auto box then you should put the selector to Park and then switch off

Rightly or wrongly with Comfortmatic I select manual 1 and then switch off. I can't see an obvious difference between 1 m and 1 a but have read it I better in manual, probably an old wives tale.
