We're currently touring in Aberdeenshire and have 'discovered' two new stopovers. Both are listed on SearchforSites.....
1. Alford
This is a very good, volunteer run museum in the centre of Alford.
Getting in is a little different in that they prefer you to call in advance as it isn't always staffed. When you arrive, they direct you to a gate off the Public Car Park and let you in to park up. There is a pedestrian gate with a combination lock to allow you back into the town. Parking is predominantly grass which is a little uneven and at the time of our visit, quite long. The chap who showed us round said we would be OK parking on the narrow access road if we were on our own!
There are no facilities, although he did point out a water tap, and must be self contained. You are expected to pay the £11each OAP rate for entrance to the Museum if you want to overnight. From what we saw it was worth the admission fee!
The sad part is that they have a very large, level, road track that they use for displays, shows etc that overnight MH's can't access.
The grassed area where MH's overnight is under the 'T' of 'Takeaway' in the image below..
The Track area would make an excellent venue for a Rally, with the proviso that all vehicles have to be self contained as there are no facilities.
Grass area where MH's park
Track, where you can't park...
We had already booked at the next place, so didnt stay at the Museum.
2. Kennethmont
This is a very good Stopover, run by a Dutch couple who made us very welcome.
They run a Campervan Rental company on the site and have just opened a Campervan Stopover/Aire with the USP of you pay for what you need.
Base price for overnight with no facilities is £10.
You then add on anything you need, water, dump, ehu, shower&toilet etc.
There are nice views and peaceful surroundings but no commerce anywhere near.
We were the only MH there and had a very quiet night.

From the Rental website, there is a page giving details of the Camperstop.
Cameron McNeish has done a video on the Camperstop at...
(The interview starts six minutes in.)
There is work ongoing at the site but it didn't intrude on us at all.
Just edited to say that we're tonight on the Cullen Stopover we reported on in March 2024..

Cullen, Moray 'New Aire'
Were having a few nights up in Scotland and decided to re-visit Cullen. We've been before when it was a first come-first served bit of uneven land next to the Pet Cemetery with a honesty box for donations for the upkeep of the area organized by the Cullen Community & Residential Centre...

And it s now fully up and running from the website...
