Update from the local tourism group:

Following extensive work to scope out potential for overnight ‘camperstops’ in the area, temporary provision for the summer will now be provided at the Gytes car park in Peebles. This provision is now being coordinated by the South of Scotland Destination Alliance and Scottish Borders Council (SBC). In time, our ambition is still to have permanent infrastructure in place at other locations and we will be continuing our work towards this goal.

The Gytes is a local council run sports centre, so presumably the centre's facilities will be available. It's by a large park and the river Tweed, and a short walk to the centre of town.
