Hopefully you are not fed up with my pestering!!
What aerial set up do you guys recommend?

Teleco directional with a booster diplexer, sounds complicated, but it just mean that you can get DAB radio through your TV aerial.
The old flying saucer types don't really work very well in areas with weak signals.

I've got the full setup here for sale that came off my last camper including the diplexer for £80 delivered if anyone wants such a setup?
PM me if interested.

Or how about a ‘temporary’ log P Ariel on a removable pole, and an external aerial point so you don’t have to make a hole in the ‘van roof……?

I don't have the instructions, but aerials are simple to operate, these aerials are adjustable for horizontal or vertical with a simple handle to adjust it from inside your motorhome, just look at local houses or other motorhomes to see which setting you need.

The DAB is built into the booster, hook it up to your radio, make sure the booster is on & away you go.

Thats what I have in my current motorhome, its good, but not as good at picking up signals in weak areas as the Teleco.

We couldn't get any channels in Newquay on our amplified Avtex aerial.
Borrowed an August DTA240 off walburga and got about 47 TV channels 😍

August DTA240 little magmount aerial.
It will be the best 10 quid you ever spend. Forget all the expensive contraptions above 😎

All very well, but try getting DAB on the hoof through this gadget & you very quickly realise that it doesn't actually work. TV reception in a decent reception area is fine, but move off to the countryside (where most sites are) & it flops badly.

The Avtex aerial is garbage, I have direct line of site to the transmitter from my garden & an Avtex aerial gets diddlysquat.

No we were in a dip in Porth Newquay. The aerial didn't even need the amp.

I thought the same as you.. Size, polarisation and especially directional-ness matters, I'd never have bought one before I borrowed it, it looks like a toy for strong reception areas. I was blown away and ordered one to come to the campsite the next day 👍

Ours worked OK in good signal areas, we managed for 6 years anyway, just had to watch something off the memory stick if it didn't work.

We’ve got the same stubby aerial as Richard and Jane has above failing that out comes the satellite dish or the firestick

Augusta have a 250 model out now too.
I’ve just ordered the 250 so I will see how I go on.

One question - if it requires a magnetic contact and the Motorhome roof on a 2011 Autoquest is aluminium sheeting and non magnetic, where is everybody fixing their August DTA to?

Our roof is aluminium too, it doesn't stick by magnetism but it's heavy and doesn't move. The aluminium provides the ground still 👍

Thanks. I’ve read that the grounding of the magnetic base of the DTA to a metal surface gives it a superior lock onto the signals which is why I asked.

Why not go with freesat, same channels, use a free standing dish and you can park anywhere. Found that equipment is much cheaper. Bought a 85cm dish, 4 outlet lnb and tripod for about€60. Never failed me anywhere.

We've got a uhf socket at the back of our pitch so we can get all the UK channels. But the van amplifier has just packed up and they've all gone 🙄

Out with the August DTA240 back up! the awning's out so I've had to cobble an extension up with about 6 plugs/sockets and adapters, but.... Half an hour later... 50 odd channels 😍 even some English.
Ann says I'm a genius, I think she's right you know 😎

Bonus: the amp used to use 200ma 👋
