chausson welcome
Hi all,
In my previous emails to you, I have now tackled getting my trumatic heater on the bench. As said previously, the pilot lights well but when the rod is released, the unit 'pops' a little but then goes out. On inspection, the thermocouple is intact and looks to be in the right position so I'm thinking to replace it with the coupler below...unless you have better suggestions ('cos I'm freezing) Please respond ASAP or I'll be sending a photo of my blue feet!

Amazon product ASIN B00NXFRSVI

Have you replaced the thermocouple yet? Or have i missed the picky of blue feet.
Does anyone know if this is the correct TC or available elsewhere.

Hi there, still got cold feet! So...I took it all apart and bench tested it. The thermocouple worked ok, the pilot was good, when I let the rod go it fired up fine...so why the cold feet you may well ask?!? So I rebuilt the heater and re-installed it and the damn thing wouldn't lite........
So I repeated all with the same result so I'm searching for some insight. Checked the flue, it's ok.
I might the pilot with the pietzo button...it lights...hold down the gas for between 20-90 seconds...let go and it may pop a little.or it may light for a few seconds...then cold feet! Any ideas you may have I would appreciate, cheers

When you bench tested it I take it that you may have used a different gas supply, If so could the problem be with the vans gas supply pipe work /gas pressure/gas regulator. Some kind of restriction or faulty regulator ?

no, i have a spigot pipe in the rear compartment, presumably for a bbq supply using the van supply. i take your thoughts regarding the gas supply so i will do another test using the original gas output pipe on the van. got to try something...thanks very much.
