So we’ve not been out in our Hymer for ages and I seem to have forgotten more than I ever knew about it. Specifically I tried to get the hot water on yesterday and only managed to get the heater going (which we definitely didn’t need!).

I need to set the controls for hot water, I set the Truma controls as follows, any idea what I did wrong?

Your controls are set for water heated to 60 degrees only, and via gas and electric. The boiler isn’t showing faults, is connected to 240v, and is currently working to get the water to temp

Thats how I see them.

Thanks Andy.....if only I could get some hot water out of the taps, the heating is working so the boiler seems fine

The left dial should be at the bottom for heating and water.

Odd Normally it’s the other way round, so you always get hot water whilst heating is on.

When boiler is off, and then you turn it on to hot water, do you hear the gas ignite?

I find if I want hot water quick then forget about the 240v bit. It takes ages. Try just gas.

I’ve never heard it fire up but then I probably wouldn’t hear much less than a small thermonuclear explosion directly over head.

We are on EHU and have enough gas in our tanks to keep a town going for a week.

I found it strange that the heating came on but still no hot water.

Great news, we have have hot water....same settings as before, I can only assume that Hymer was angry at us for not taking him out in ages and this was his way of punishing us!

Thanks for your help and assistance, as always it’s much appreciated.

I'm dreading trying to remember how our ruddy AV system works ...

Looks like the right hand knob (electric) is set for water AND heating ?

Ah, thanks @ Minxy Girl, the icons are very similar to the heating and hot water ones, good old Trauma !

I know, whoever decided on using the same symbol should have been shot!

Could be a faulty thermostat, try the 40 deg setting and see if that works.

I have also noticed that when using the controls and there seems no action, switching both controls back to “off” and setting it up again enables the unit to start up. Why ? Dunno !

I have the same controller

Found out why I couldn’t get heating to work. I hadn’t turned on the panel.
Also have to turn on the yellow tap for the gas.
Learning slowly but surely 😀😀😀

That is normal. It is asking for a Reboot simplistically. I some times switch the control panel off and find I have to reset the Heat/Water by switching off and on again. chances are there is a "latching" relay. probably electronic now a days somewhere.
