Is it safe to run a truma boiler only for the heating when the frost valve is open and there's no water in the system?

Depends on the model of Truma most of them since about 2000 are OK e.g. C4002 & C6002 and C4 & C6 are OK.
Thanks. The manual that came with the van is for a c4002 and c6002.

If not on hook up, it might prove tricky to get the van body above the 4deg.C needed to get the valve to stay closed, so it makes sense for the boiler to have that facility.

Hi Jack, did this work alright for you without problems as I want to do the same on my 2018 Pilote P650c with the water drained.
