I have a Rapido 7095DF with a Truma Combi E heater. The controls are the two knobs rather than the electronic panel. Before the winter I drained the water and boiler and left the auto frost valve open. Also left all the taps and shower open. Today I tried to put the heater on, on gas to warm the van up (without filling the water) but I get a red, constant light after a few seconds. Checked battery voltage, no problems. Tested with 230 V attached but same thing happens. Then i tried to warm up the van with electric instead, but same thing happend; red, constant light... what can be the issue?

Regards

Definitely gas getting through to it? Light a hob burner for a bit just to make sure the gas is getting that far.

Two of three hobs are working and so is the fridge, so I believe the gas is getting through...

We sometimes have that problem when we've not used the motorhome for a while.

Whilst you're saying you're getting gas to the hob and fridge the Truma boiler can take a few attempts to fire up as it pulls the gas through. Probably something to do with a fail safe, thinks it's getting gas but it wont ignite.

Give it a few good on / off (rotate the gas / electricity / off knob to 0 / gas - wait to see it fires up / 0 / gas- wait to see it fires up / etc). When you do this you should be able to hear the igniter sparking and, if it's getting gas, the boiler firing up.

Try that and if it's still an issue get back and we'll see what next to try.

Since 2008 & many years tugging
On those controllers the red light can also indicate low voltage, if the 12v is low the boiler won't fire up. Check the voltage at the boiler both with boiler on & off.

Thanks for help! I´ll try your tips concerning gas, but why won´t it start on electricity?

I´ve tried with the 230 V plugged in without result.... perhaps some issue with the battery even though the lamps are working...

As Lenny says it needs a good battery supply.
Can you hear the igniter sparking?
Have you tried the heating/hot water on the 230v supply?

Just checked the panel, says battery is on 13.2 V
You really need a multimeter to check the voltage at the boiler itself. A bad connection or (as I found out yesterday) a break in a old cable can cause voltage drop and cause the boiler to fail.
