Hi all I,m a newbie & didn’t think I’d have anything to contribute so soon. I’ve a new Hymer & have used the heating on my drive, hook up & gas without problems. First time away & heater doesn’t work, E516H coming up on display. Has anyone any experience of this. I’ve tried resetting without success. Any help appreciated.

PHONE TRUMA ON. 01283 587960

VERY HELPFUL,

BUT SUGGEST YOU ALSO CONTACT YOUR DEALER URGENTLY.

If it is Highbridge you bought it from. , get on to them NOW.

I had the same problem and HB could not fit me in for weeks/months. (Read my file “am I in the wrong business”)

After a lot of hassle and having a talk (heated discussion!) with Mathew one the directors rather than having to wait until Marchish to have it seen to , they are going to sort mine, out first week January at their Devon branch.

One other suggestion when phoning make a point of noting the time/day and who you spoke to.

Does the heating still work on gas? If it is only the electric heating that has failed then it may be the 240v fuse hidden deep within the casing. There is a 12v fuse at the top which is reasonably accessible but the 240v one can be very hard to get to and they are prone to blowing. I think it is supposed to be a 10amp slow acting fuse, a standard fuse is likely to last even less time. I got my spares from Maplin but unfortunately that is no longer an option. I have had to change the fuse on my unit 3 times and did one for a caravan parked next to me too.

You could try contacting Truma, through this.

Hi all & thanks for your input. The heating doesn’t work on either.

Hi all I’ve just discovered how to recover my heater. There’s a cover on top of heater & If you remove it there’s a reset button which got me back in business. Thanks for all your help.

When my 240v fuse blew the heating worked on gas.

But I think the 12v circuit is the control/fan supply and that has to work.

I would check the 12v supply/fuse.

Its the easy one to get to at the top.

The 240v one is the nasty, dismantle the motorhome one on my van.

Must of tripped it when you unplugged the electric EHU...

Normally it should work on 230V as long as you only select 230V as a source and not the mix of gas and electricity.

The other way around. When the 230V fuse is blown or 230v is not available, gas is still working as a source as long you don’t select electricity as the source nor the mix of gas and electricity.
