So here we are boiling nicely in Bosnia and the Truma Aventa aircon stops working suddenly ( it’s only 10 months old) .
So I carried out the usual checks 240 v fuse , reset the controller etc but the unit is defo not getting power.
So now it’s onto the Truma website for local dealers … none in Bosnia grrrrr .
So with limited knowledge , and on the advice of a very helpful fellow Motorhomer, I take the internal diffuser off and get into the software module to find that the internal 6.3a ceramic slow blow fuse has in fact blown.I assume I have had a EHU spike whilst on the camp site.
The only ceramic fuse I have on board are 10 amp ones so I insert one of those to test the board hasn’t blown and happily all works well.
I do not want to run the aircon with the 10 amp ceramic fuse ( just in case I blow the board if another spike occurs) so I try to purchase a new 6.3 a ceramic fuse in Sarajevo and Mostar … no one has the ceramic version but loads of glass versions .
My question to the group is … would the glass 6.3a fuse work ok or would I be better off as a temporary measure using the 10 amp slow blow ceramic.
My advice to others with this type of Aircon unit is to buy spare 6.3a ceramic fuses before you leave home - just in case.
