MH
Fiat Ducato
Hello fellow MHF'ers (couldn't think of a wittier opener so just added 'ers on the end😄)

I've recently joined after being a Vdub camper T6 Forum member and with spending 5yrs pilling money into modding the money pit, I've sold it and upgraded to a Fiat Ducato MH.
So I'm carrying on the habit of tweaking and modding my MH from small purchases from Temu (hooks, storage and accessories) to projects of upgrading head unit, speakers and possible light bars....I also have a European trip planned to Amsterdam, Germany to Austria and back to UK in August so I'm open to questions and documenting my tips, mods and travels. A Boxer dog , two chaps and the lady will be joining me. Have done the Europe trips a few times.
Cheers and hello

Welcome aboard.

Upgrading from a T6 to your current van is questionable but I've been a VW fan for fifty eight years so I guess I am a bit biased.

Now driving a LWB Auto MAN TGE 3.180 (VW Crafter in disguise) and loving it despite the cost!

Welcome to the other side 😉
There may be a few of us who’ve outgrown our T6’s and upsized to a motorhome or PVC. Lots of helpful advice here, including vehicle specific and motorhome builder/convertor advice and recommendations.

Welcome to the Fun House

I think most mods/upgrades on motorhomes on MHF relate to how you use them as opposed to the looks. A lot are done for convenience i.e. fitting refillable gas cylinders (which are somewhat cost effective) many are done to allow off site/off grid use i.e. lithium batteries, solar panels, B2B etc and some are done to enhance the drive i.e. air suspension, better tyres etc

So someone coming in with a fresh set of ideas for installs, tips and tricks etc will be a welcome addition...👍

Welcome To The Team GIF by MOODMAN

Hi and welcome, I did a similar thing, changed from a Mazda Bongo to Transit based Auto sleeper. Would never go back to a campervan after a motorhome

Welcome Buddy, you are in good company here!
I jumped from a long term T4/Bilbos ownership to a XLWB Ducato, which has since been upgraded with solid advice from the MHF gang. There are no silly questions - only multiple answers with multiple ways to achieve your goals 😄

MHFers?

The officially recognised term is "Funsters", I think you'll find :ROFLMAO:

Welcome aboard (y)

My vanlifing started in a Type 2 as a kid and then another one rekindled this for me as an adult. The only VW I've ever owned.

Hope the new MH puts a smile on your face, and don't worry, there's tons of things you can waste your money on in a MH....

Welcome aboard ;)

Welcome and as a fellow t6 forum member you won’t look back. Whilst I still admire the modded vw’s they really lack practicality for longer term use. Hence why we’re here in a larger motorhome :)

We have followed a similar route upgrading from VW T6 to a 6.0m Ducato PVC which has worked out to be a good solution for our use. Love having the extra space for stuff and facilities onboard. Couldn’t go back now.

Hi, we have just done the same. Ex VW t6 lwb 4 motion we built from scratch, it was sad seeing it go, but a new world awaits us now....

Good move this is a great site with many helpful and knowledgeable members wanting to help and offer advice. Saved my bacon more than a few times as a newbie

Thought I recognised the monicker!

Welcome to the Dark Side!

Welcome to the Funsters.

We started off, back in the old days, with a Commer campervan but that was back in the late 60's early 70's.
Now, 50 odd years later, have upgraded to a Fiat Ducato Laika............wow, what a difference!
Sooooo much space!
You'll never look back.
Enjoy.
