We have an alarm fitted and it seems to do the job. However, quite keen to get a tracker fitted especially after @Dorwyn’s awful experience recently.

Any recommendations? We’re based near Ayr. south west of Glasgow but can travel.

Really. They are going to be busy. I could start my van a dozen times a day

I thought this was how they worked? They can’t tell who’s driving. I presume it’s an automated email/text.

We had a Phantom Sentinel added. Very happy with them. If I set off the alarm really prompt call to check all OK. It even picked up when we had a vehicle battery connection issue and the tracker lost power and they called to check all OK. App they provide is useful and not too expensive per year subscription for the tracking service.

Some will say no or ‘too expensive’ as with everything you pay your money and take your choice. Should add I know a farmer who is very happy he uses these guys. https://www.tracker.co.uk/

We have a tracker fitted with Global Telemetrics. Very happy, thankfully they don’t call every time we start it! But when it went in for a service a few months ago and had a new battery installed, they called as soon as the battery was disconnected to check that all was ok.

Thé companies seem to quote a 95-96% vehicle recovery rate but don’t break that down into MH/van/car/bike.
I’m not sure I’d want a call every time it started as, when touring, you could have quite a few stop starts every day. But a text or email would be good.

Tracker do not call every time only if there is unauthorised vehicle start.

How do they know - to you call them before setting off?
They know everything where you've been how long your parked, when you start which underground carpark etc etc

Just like a modern car key it is matched to an ID chip no ID then the vans nicked. If you loose your keys or they are taken well that's just called operator error, but its still tracked you just don't get a notification.
