Towing

Going to have towbar fitted to,my compass Avantgarde and tow small car.
I have fiat Punta is this to big any advice appreciated.
should I look at smaller like smart car any advice for them are they to small ? They are semi automatic so that sounds good.
it's main purpose would be to use as second car.

What is the overall maximum train weight of the van and trailer?
What is the towing capacity of the van?
What is the weight of the towcar?
Some auto or semiauto gearboxes cannot be towed.
