Towbar protrusions ... ?

I know next to nothing about them, but I have seen on modern cars towbars that disappear into the bodywork when not in use. So the question is, can you get anything like that for a Ducato, particularly a short (5.4m) Van? The parking space for our van is exceptionally tight and a traditional tow bar would jut out onto the public footpath. I'd rather not have to dismantle something either, if possible.

My car towbar has a removable ball hitch. There are removable hitches for motorhomes but you will be controlled by just which bars are available for your particular van.

There is another thread on here about towbars with some info on suppliers. Ring some for advice.

Who fitted your towbar and did they do a good job?

Both Witter & Westfalia do towbars with detachable tow balls.

I have fitted a westfalia detachable tow bar to my PVC as my van goes right up to the pavement and adding a towbar meant it stuck into the path.

Read up on the safety of removable towbars. They need to be checked, they are not fit and forget.
