Hi top
Exp
I'm a newbie
We have been considering a rear bike rack for our Elddis but are concerned of damaging the rear van structure. So we decided to go the tow bar route however, all the main companies only list vans from 2008 where ours is 2006.

Can any funsters reccomend a supply and fitting company please?

Thanks

Can't Help with towbars in your area but if you can travel up north there are a couple of places that manufacture specifically to fit. I have previously (on 2 occasions) used a guy near Blackpool and was well pleased with the work. Also Armitage Trailers at Ferrybridge.

As it happens I was looking for a bar for the Hymer..
these people have in stock and also make bespoke.. worth a call or email

Just used tow trust for supply of tow bar and dedicated electrics was getting quotes for £1200 paid £510

Before you commit, check up on the overall and rear axle weight limits. We used to have a 2004 Autoquest 100 and rejected the idea of a bike rack of any description as, when loaded, it would have exceeded the rear limit. You may have to have the max weight uprated.

Thank you to all who have posted, much apreciated.
Watling towbars are calculating our van weights for us to see if we can add a tow bar and supply.

Thank you funsters.....looking forward to a Newbury visit this sat.

I can endorse @ScotJimland on Watling and it seems you have made contact. They did a good job on our towbar and bike rack.

I live reasonably local to Watling towbars and I could recommend them.

I have never heard a bad word about them(y)

PWS have fitted 3 of our vans. One being a 6m Compass Avantgarde, well recommended .

When I asked Travelworld to fit a towbar to my N&B Arto they fitted a PWS made one. I think they custom build if you want

Just had a tow bar c/w single socket (galvanised) at Mick Parkinson in Freckleton near Blackpool
call him on Tel. - 01772 634215 or mobile - 07887 997653.
Recommend him, call first to arrange, he will make it and then fit it no problems, he lent us his car to have a run into Blackpool. Only took him about 90 minutes and all done.
You can go up the night before and park with hook up at his work shop so you are first the next morning.
Chippie in the village and pub at the top of the road (2 mins away) both do good food.
