Just got a TomTom Go Camper sat nav. Bit confused on setting up the vehicle dimensions.
1/ should I input exact vehicle length, width, height or add a bit for safety or is that safety margin built into the TomTom?
2/ I can input front and rear axle weights but cannot find how to input total weight. The two axles together comes out at 3,650Kg yet my max is 3500Kg. Do not want TomTom stopping me using 3.5Ton bridges.

It's because some bridges etc. have axle weight limits.

I have a 7.5mtr plus AFramed Smart. I put mine in at virtually artic lengths. I then did some test routes of familiar (to me) routes to see if it would spot width barriers and low bridges. You can see the roads it won't go down marked in purple.

If it really doesn't have a max limit somewhere, I'd stick one axle as the heaviest one, and the other as MAM-other axle weight. Then you have one axle at the maximum value and the vehicle itself at the maximum. i.e. in your case, Axle 1 = 1600kg, Axle 2 = 1900kg.

Scratch that, it says "gross/axle in t". I think the first box is total weight and the second is your highest axle weight. Enter 3.50, 1.90.

Ah, apologies to all. Looking on the TomTom website, where else, I found I should have selected 'camper'. It seems that is set at a limit of 3500Kg. The 'heavy motorhome' is set at 5000Kg. You would have thought they would have had two motorhome selections, one under 3500Kg and one over. My A class van is hardly a camper, by selection heavy motorhome I would have been denied many 3.5 ton bridges.

Those appear to just be presets. The screen you showed had custom values to set.

No, those are my dimensions plus a bit. Thanks anyways, I think I have worked it now. It seems the early TomTom Camper sat nav was set with a default 3,500Kg weight the same as cars. Owners with larger vehicles complained and TomTom bought in a 5,000Kg weight for heavy motorhomes. Still think their software and menus could be better. I suppose owners of heavy vans with the older sat nav software are happily driving over 3.5Ton bridges.
