We've just received our emovis tag and read the instructions re fitting. We don't have dots behind the mirror, we have a solid black area with a very narrow dotted border around it. Does anyone know if the tag will work in this black area? We're a bit confused.

Not so new now
We had to put ours below the dotted area on a clear part of the windscreen in the centre. It worked perfectly.
Always a slight concern when you first approach the barrier for the first time and you do have to get quite close to some of them but if all else fails you can apparently unclip it and wave it out of the driver or passenger window!!

I raised the same query only a few days ago. I ended up placing my toll tag immediately to the left of the central mirror position, on clear windscreen - no dots, and it has, so far, worked faultlessly. I positioned it where I thought it would have a line of sight under the slight projecting overhang. Yes, bit unnerving the first time you approach the ‘t’ booth/ barrier… but now using the the 30km lanes without hesitation. You should hear a small beep as you approach and the barrier rises up in front of you. Open road ahead.

Hope yours works as well.

Whilst ours is Big & Go, I assume they work in similar ways as the use the same system at the tolls.

Ours in mounted with the transponder just outside the black bit, with the sticky pad on the black bit. This worked perfectly on our recent trip and the blinds still worked.
