We are parked up in an aire in Lierganes and Just watched a Spanish chap dump his toilet waste into the grey water disposal point. There is no toilet waste disposal point so is this acceptable? First time for us in Spain so it's a genuine question.
Do both black and grey waste go into the same sewer eventually?

Are you sure he tipped it in the gray water hole? I think the toilet dump is in front of it there's a metal checker plate lid in the floor to lift.

Grey water in Spain often a grill across the place to stop for the services and as manners says, cassette waste down a lift up plate on the service point.
Best to clean the fresh water taps before using for that proper purpose!

Looks like it,is this the one? not that they're usually bothered, out of sight, out of mind 😆

I've come across toilet disposal points in the centre of the grey waste grid in France.
Not even a flap to lift, just a 5" circular hole in the middelof the grey grid - sineage indicating this to be the correct place to tip your loo content.

Wow, replies within minutes including photos of the exact waste disposal point 😀
Thanks all, I hadn't noticed the lift up manhole cover. I did notice toilet paper clogging the grill for grey water though, hence my (incorrect) assumption of what my neighbour was doing.
I can now do what's necessary with a clear conscience.

Wohnmobil Treff in Lübeck had an 'all-in-one' black & grey disposal which confused me until enlightened by another motorhomer.

Many dump toilet waste in the grey area. It's done in the UK as well. That's how the American RV's and Fifth wheels empty. I asked the steward at Burrs CP about it and he confirmed they empty black into the grey hole.

We keep one of those hooks for removing stubborn pegs especially for lifting grids as a few mucky people don’t seem to realise it might be a good idea to raise the grid before they empty their black waste. It seems to happen particularly where you’ve got the drive over drains. People are dumb &/or lazy.

Canterbury P& R comes to mind.

Somebody had gone to the trouble of fitting a strap to the grid to lift it by last time we were there, but it had got covered because the lazy b******s couldn't be bothered to lift it. Probably a case of I won't be using it again!

Are you suggesting that is the correct place to empty a RV tank or that it is wrong ? my experience is that the grey drain is usually connected to the black.

Ironically, one of my other neighbours decided to empty his black tank after dark by walking to the back of his MH and pouring the contents onto the grass behind it. He was 30m from the official disposal point! I didn't actually witness this but we certainly smelt it as our hab door was open at the time

Generally speaking Grey and Black are connected...but in some cases a Septic tank would be used for black, but that's not too common now..and how would you know..
Is this classed as a Toilet thread.. 🥴🇬🇧🇪🇦

On a CS we use regularly they have a standard toilet waste dump ( green box with lid) marked up and a grey waste soak away close by marked up with a big sign- grey waste only but still people have put toilet waste down grey waste

Can you be sure it’s not grey into the black waste rather than the other way round?

Also, unless there is a septic tank for black and a soak away for grey, they’re both going to end up at the same processing plant.
