Are toilets n showers now open at the main club sites. Only asking so I know what to pack.

Yes open, with restricted numbers.

Toilets \ dishwashing \ shower \ etc all open with restricted numbers and controlled access (rubber bands as mentioned above) on the two sites we've been on so far in Scotland.

We didn't bother using the facilities this week, preferring to use our own. A few people did but not many.

I’ll use them if they’re open. Saves emptying as often. I don’t understand the fear around using a toilet or shower. Particularly the shower. We’ve been told from day one that the best way to kill the virus is soap and water. I can’t think of a place with more soap and water than a shower.

Details here with updates May 17th.

I’m pretty sure that we won’t have another wave. Every day more people are being vaccinated, they’re calling up the over 30s where we live.

The data shows that the vaccines work, even on the variants.

I'm interested how sites are working their facilities. The sites you've been on is it 1 in 1 out or several cubicles open at a time?
What's the rubber band system?

Thanks

Shawn

Usually use small cl sites but using the large club sites on week around Cotswolds as they are better located fi our needs and as we only have a toilet and no shower on board 😱( toilet /shower tent if needed)

As I understand it the virus clings onto vapour and can then get carried around the surrounding area easier.

Best not go outside then as we’ve had nowt but vapour in the shape of rain for weeks now.
I'll say no more then. Everyone to their own, but just don't think we'll all be going away later in the year.

I'm seeing the way people are behaving and it's frightening really.

The band system. You place a band on a hook outside if a hook is available. Use facilities and remove band. Sites vary but you either have a band issued or they are in a sterile solution outside the facilities.

Have you both had the vaccine?

That’s right! A variation on this is where you put the band on the hook and just leave it there. 😂

Band system worked well in Buxton. We used our own facilities Friday, Saturday, Sunday and most of Monday. We were leaving Tuesday morning, so used the site facilities Monday evening (save moving to empty the grey waste).

However, a couple in a van had parked in a nearby carpark and walked on site to use the toilet block. Spotted by the Wardens and asked to leave as the site did not have their details for Track and Trace.

Well done the wardens, and shame on those people for not following safety protocols.

As has been said by others.
Two bands in a tub with sterilising solution, collect one, hang on hook, enter, do whatever and the reverse on the way out.

We are on a CMC site in the Lake District now. This morning they had 2 toilets and 2 showers open in the block nearest us, which if replicated across the other 2 blocks, means 6 toilets and showers for 222 pitches and its full!! CAMC way over the top Im afraid. If people dont want to use the facilites, then dont. But use some common sense in how you manage the facilities for the rest of us.
Their email to members announcing the re opening of toilets and showers said on the header ' Great news, showers and toilets fully open' Ive just checked it, a bit misleading I think!
We have just come from the CCC site in Keswick and they had 11 showers and 8 toilets ( all bar 2) open in one block!!

I'm actually seeing very few people take any notice of protocols, what I have noticed though that very few of the, lets say, older generation are paying any notice to procedures but the younger generation I'm seeing around site are the ones wearing masks where the should and sanitising.

Both had first dose, 2nd due mid June.
Shawn
You’ll be fine then, two weeks after the second vaccination. Data is showing both vaccines are highly effective even against the Indian variant.

Hubby was due his 2 nd vax in first week of June ( aged 57)... Got text yesterday inviting him earlier  ..all sorted yesterday, we also will look at the situation when we away next weekend! More than likely use our own facilities(y)
