Not Motorhome info, but hope it my help sometime.
  1. My old Smart Meter does not work , Phoned E-on on normal Customer services 4 or 5 times over a year , all sorts of excuses why it has not been replaced ,
  2. Phoned Customer Services today and mentioned I might put Solar Panels on Roof ,the guy immediately gave me their "Feed in Tariff Phone number " I phoned them ,and she said they will come between 12 noon and 5pm Tomorrow to change meter(S) !! connecting to right Guy was a joy after telling him I had emailed Ripoff Britain which I had!!

Customer service, phoned Shell energy today , 20 minutes on hold , constantly being told by a recorded message that my call was important to them.
Useless tossers.

Just be careful! My mate at work had to have his smart metre swapped as it was faulty. When he next received his bill it had doubled to what he normally uses. It transpired that they were charging him for both metres. They had refitted the faulty one somewhere else and billing my mate for both.
Took him best part of a year to sort it out as no one on the phone believed what he was telling them and most of them were foreign.

Customer service phone operators all take their training in India......
Found that out couple years ago with Barclays , but at least you can ask to be through to a UK Customer Services person

Havent got a smart meter.
Dont want a smart meter.
Dont need a smart meter.

Im quite capable of reading my existing meter,as would anyone with at least one grey cell, and working out the cost. They are just interested in saving themselves money….which will not be passed on to the consumer.

I have a smart meter, one of the first. It has never worked and I dont really care
I did not care ,but if I have solar panels fitted you cannot put back excess power into the National Grid without a Meter which you can get paid some miserly sum, and as the panels are now cheaper to have fitted and money in the Bank returns near enough zero , with rising energy costs I think I will get a better return on my money , ps. Hopefully Energy prices are not going to drop in forseeable future if ever

Do you mean the display that you plug in and monitor the usage? If so that’s not the meter, the actual meter is probably in a cupboard somewhere and transmits to the display and to the electric company. You don’t have to have the display plugged in, ours has been in a drawer for at least 3 years, but they still get data from the meter every 30 minutes.

When we had our solar panels fitted informed energy company and all good until we had to send a normal meter reading, we sent it of only to be told it was lower than previous reading so looked at The meter oops it going backwards they should have fitted a different meter as a known problem with our very old meter

Smart meters? - what a joke!
So good that they cant read them if you were forced to change supplier when lots of them went bust.
Our 'new' kitchen was built around the services and the gas meter is now in the bottom of a cupboard which needs a shelf removing to be able to read it.
