Few years now
Good Afternoon
Does anyone have a copy of the Cambelt change frequency they could post for the Fiat Ducato 130 BHP Euro 5 Engine? I am getting conflicting information about it. I believe it is 120000 miles or dependant on the type of use by time.
Thanks Howard

most motorhomes dont do high mileage so the normal period is change at five years .

Not your engine but the 2.8Jtd(2003).

Mine was at 5 years this year. I wondered if I could stretch it to one more year and asked my very trustworthy commercial garage to inspect it. He reported that there was already slight signs of wear. It was changed, as I do not want to drive around worrying. He showed me the wear on the old one - slight but it had started.

It is 5 years for that engine.

Engine is 130 multi jet. Too many cooks here. Phoned Fiat this morning Fiat service specialist, Fiat themselves, and the handbook all say the same . Check the belt at 60000 miles , change the belt at 150000 miles. No mention of time factor at all .
The old JTD engine needed changing at 5 years, not the multijet

I wouldn’t bet a new engine on that information.....

Didn't even know there was a 2.8 180bhp Multijet - our 3.0 Multijet 160bhp has a chain though.

My van is a 130 euro 5 and i changed mine after 6yrs peace of mind..

Shame they can't read then. This is the Euro 5 handbook., but it applies to all current multijet JTD engines. Note the sentence that starts "Irrespective of the mileage..." and ends with the words "or at least every 5 years".

It's identical in the Euro 6 handbook, where Fiat usefully publish the whole service schedule to assist the owner, possibly because they have as much faith in their dealers as I do.

Your 5 year old registered MoHo could be a 7 years old Fiat van by the time it took to convert it and the time it took to sell it. :Eeek: :Eeek:

In theory they don't need to be changed but if oil changes are scrimped then quite often they do need to be replaced at around 100-150k miles

Thanks for the responses.

It seems that nobody has confirmed whether the OP has a belt or a chain, so we might all have been wasting our time('scuse the pun)
Don't think there's a 130bhp engine with a chain.
