Can anyone recommend some sides which will attach to my wind out blind that don't take half a day to attach ? .

Obelink in the NL do some really good kit at exceptional prices, but you will need to use a VPN to spoof a European iP address to see it on their website, and collect from a European address as they don't ship here.

Probably need to know a bit more how you use your motorhome.

I think that the point of putting sides/front onto the Omnistor is that you want either space, or privacy or weather protection. Do you want sides/front that peg out? Do you want it to stand up to >30mph winds? Do you want to be able to put up/take down in minutes?

We have a Thule Residence G3. It takes about 30 minutes to put up, but the bracing struts make it absolutely rock solid in any wind. The drawback is that you can really only use it when you are staying somewhere for more than a few days. It's too much of a faff to put up and down and use the bus as the runabout.

For a more temporary solution, I'd suggest looking at the side and front rain or sun blockers. Not cheap, but designed to fit on your Omnistor. You put up a pole at either end and thread the side panels ponto a keder rail. The sun blockers don't peg out so are the quickest to put up, while the rain blockers can be pegged.

We've now got a driveaway awning that bridges the gap between extra space and driveability. So if we are staying somewhere for less than two nights, we just wind out the Omnistor, but if we are staying more than two nights, we put up the driveaway awning.

Thule blockers are good.
However, as Red says, the Obelink panels are very good and a lot cheaper.
If you are going over that way it‘d be worth calling in, it’s massive and you could spend a day or two there. Loads of good campsites in the area too.

We bought the G2 rain blockers , just the sides last Friday funnily enough for our wind out awning. We’re using them at Topsham and we’ve had a fair bit of rain. They went up pretty easily . The only snag was our lack of height and we’d only brought our little Lidl step so borrowed taller steps plus Mousy Martin! We managed the second side better.

We’re pleased with them £198 each side but it includes the rafter. They do a special curved one for PVCs, so for us ended us not much dearer than Obelink, we looked a few years back when they posted to U.K. before Bre…

We will be taking them to France but also our taller step as that will take up far less room than Martin!

We had the old style Quest and have the new one but although they’re great we felt too shut away.

We went for the dometic drive away in the end. Very heavy and expensive bit works a treat and easy to put up. And of course you can leave it up if you want to use the van.

Thanks very much for all your input and we seem to be spending more time on sites in south of France so would something more substantial than just our wind out as everybody out here seems to use more of the space like a privacy room ! Just wondered if DDJC you were now selling your Thule privacy room ? .

We have a full privacy room and typically only use the sides , we always us the rear ‘leg’ but you could put the sides up without the legs, they just slide into the 6mm in the side bar which you would have to use, but they make the awning so much more stable and clamp the canvas to stop (reduce) flapping 👍
