Afternoon all, I am moving to 3 because they have mostly European cover for free. My question is has anyone managed to tether an I pad from their mobile phone in say France or Spain on the 3 network Not a problem in UK but don't know about mainland Europe . Barrie

I have in France but you only get 4GB a month for tethering if your on all you can eat data which is fine if your a light user.

Tethered 2 iPads together on 3 in Spain for the last 4 weeks. Been great .
Not tried it with a phone though husband says it is a different SIM card.?

3 say that there is no tethering allowed abroad unless you are on All you can Eat Data package and that's limited to 4 gig a month.

Check this out
I have one of these and I can use upto 10 devices on it. That would include an ipad or any other device.
It is fantastic you can use it anywhere in France and Spain, and most of Europe too. In 138 counties in total
I have never been in an area where I have not been able to get a signal.
Also it is 4G enabled so if you are in an area that has 4g download speeds will be very fast.
15gb is a lot of data to use and I have never run out of data

I tethered my Macbook to my phone (phablet) on 3 in France on PAYG no problems. Only did it for blog uploads etc. However the speed on 3 is appalling abroad :eek::eek: I could almost run faster....

Yes. You can, and we do, and have done for a while, and will continue to do until we cannot.
