We spent Christmas and New Year in Swanage last year and tonight (just for something to do 😄) we had a look at availability there and other places ☹️ and no luck!! We're looking for somewhere with good walks, hard standing, ehu if poss but not a deal breaker, local pub, somewhere in Dorset or Devon. All recommendations welcome. It looks like a lot of motorhomers are thinking like us and booking early 😄

CCMC Devizes. Fit your wish list but as people book a year in an advance put yourself down on the waiting list - ditto Baltic Wharf In Bristol where we were 28 th on the waiting list in November and got in okay for the New Year. I think not taking a deposit is not the best system as it doesn’t encourage commitment and books out the sites.

We are booked into Dornafield next week for one week. It appears to have what you are looking for although i do not know if they are open and have availability over the Xmas period.

We usually run the New Year rally at Shrewsbury. I have spoken to the showground, but am putting off opening it up for bookings until much much later as we will almost certainly have to reduce numbers significantly for the venue, and if the new restrictions do not bring down the Covid infection rate, I can't see us being able to hold it. We've only been out of lockdown for about two months and the R rate is spiraling upwards apace. Is anyones crystal ball better than mine?

That said, unless county borders move radically, it doesn't meet your wish list on location.

Shrewsbury is usually grossly oversubscribed so it is launched on the forum with no notice to give everyone a chance. Not sure what response we would get this year even if we are allowed to do it.
