Thetford toilet problem

Thetford cassette toilet. When flushing a lot of black bits are coming through with the water, any ideas? Hubby thinks tank needs cleaning or replacing. It has also started smelling a bit of the chemical green stuff used in the cassette. Rubber filters look ok on it.

If the toilet has its own flush tank , and you are using ,or have used , the pink freshener that can be added into it, that has been known to cause this problem.

We do use the pink stuff in the flush tank yes. Hmm never heard of it causing a problem, maybe you are right though. Every time we flush tho lots and lots of black bits coming through too ☹

All done!! Filled the flush tank out, several watering cans water, no black bits, not using pink flush fluid just water. Thanks for the replies and advice

When we had a c'van we had same problem so, like you stopped using pink in tank.
Instead we diluted some into a spray bottle and sprayed that directly into bowl.

We had a few problems with the flush on our motorhome including two pumps completely locking up and black bits in the flush water. I decided to change the pump myself this time. The flush tank was absolutely filthy with black gunk. After a thorough clean and fitting the new pump we put a Bio clothes washing capsule in the flush water. It seems to have kept the tank clean and dosnt smell as bad as some of the pink gunk.
