Afternoon everyone,
I have the above fridge I a 2007 Swift Bolaro 630 ew. It use to seal its self shut and was very difficult to open right away. You now have to have the travel catch on in-between uses. However it does do that anymore and thought it might be the seal/magnets in the seal?
You can also see the light on inside so I have removed the bulbs as we are off grid.
If that is the case can the seal be removed and replaced? Or its that the seal is integral to the door, in which case I believe the door and fridge are obsolete.
Any info or guidance would be great fully received.

Has the door dropped out of alignment? If so you may be able to place a washer on the bottom hinge to raise it up.

Just checked, yes it is a little loose. But I wondered if there is a magnet in the door seal that has gone, hence it not holding like it used too?

The magnet runs all round the seal but from experience they aren't very strong, so try realigning it and see if that sorts it.

Ours had a spate of not closing tight, hubby had to re-align the door and packed one or both hinges I think.

Is there a catch that keeps the door slightly open when not in use? Mine has an orange plastic piece.

Thanks all. If that does not work does anyone know how to source and replace the correct seal?

Have a look on the top of the door at the catch. Ours sometimes overrides the lock and although the door opens the catch is in the wrong place and won’t stay shut. Undo the tiny philips screw and readjust.

Oh OK, what is the best way to remagnitize the seal? As this may save me folking out my hard earned.. and I'll also the vasaline trick as well.

I think you just run a strong magnet round it, not sure what type of magnet you need.

Evening M-J,
I have tried running a magnet around the seal, 11 times and the magnet did stick to the door seal after the 9th run, so i stopped. I placed a torch inside the fridge and the was not light "bleeding" out of the seal.
I'm hoping that this has solved the problem, but I keep an eye out on our next trip.
I would like to thank every contribution from each funster.. what an amazing community.
