Thetford filter

hi has anyone tried to replace the charcoal in these type of filter ,because according to Thetford you need to replace every "4weeks" which at average price of £20 its a bit expensive .

I changed mine last year, annual change seems reasonable For the use we have. I am assuming 4weeks is continuous ‘heavy use’ so you just have to take a view when you wish to change it.

should add there are at least two variants of that filter
