Hi all
Our toilet cassette is on its last legs. Sensor saying full or not stopped working. We could live with that (empty daily). But now the seal has stopped sealing toilet wont hold water.
So we want to get a new cassette. So here the question. Any one know a Thetford dealer by Gibraltar. We will be heading along the cost towards Almera So somewhere along that route.
As far as I can tell from photos on net it's a c400 is there a way we can be sure.? Does Thetford have a UK phone number cant see it on there site.
Any help would be great
Rob

The part number for the cassette should be under the cassette on a sticker.

the full indicator is a simple float and magnet, which is easy to replace and not expensive

I find that they need a service after 7 or 8 years, spares available and it's a straightforward job. Much cheaper than a new cassette. Get the parts on eBay, cheaper than Thetford.

Its getting it delivered where on the move. How much for a new cassette?

just done seal and float and a good "degunge" on mine for about £22
310 for float £12 for seal

Will ring a few dealers tomorrow. Here till February could live with no sensor it's more the seal and £95 not the horror figure I had in mind.

We got the motorhome in June. Jumped in it and been living in it since then. So don't mind spending a few pound on it. The prob is we drove it straight on the ferry and been in Spain since so its more finding parts we need that's why we were living with the broken sensor

Yours probably only needs a good clean, you might have dislodged the arm with the float, and a new seal fitted. ?

Does yours look like this one. ?

We have had various bits and pieces off these people, you need an address for delivery ,they speak English and are good to deal with. ? Bob.

Yep looks like ours. Does it have a shop? Where is it?

Yes they have a shop, but it's easier to post, ? but if you have nothing else to do, ? but phone or email to make sure it's there with your name on it before driving all that way. ? Bob.

For a temporary fix, pour a good tablespoon full of olive oil, extra virgin best, into the toilet bowl and leave overnight, or as long as possible. If you manage to get hold of a new seal it is an easy fix.

Guess I must be on someones naughty list !

And keep the old one. Useful for the overflow:eek:

La Canada is a lot nearer than Cabra!
La Canada is more on are route. Will ring both and email them some photos. Now its light will have a look to see if there are any screws and if need be may try and service the cassette. We were prepared to live without sensor so if I can just fix the seal.
But plan A is a new cassette
And thanks again for all the help
Rob

Sorry forgot to ask is there only one size seal.

From memory there are different sizes but the number on the bottom of your cassette should give you a reference to match to make sure you get the correct one.

We changed the seal on ours a few years ago. Ten minute job and straightforward. Just don’t lose the securing screws!

If you PM me a photo of the cassette and your make and model of van I can speak to Nova who are our suppliers. They may be able to ship one out to you.
Alternatively, I bet Amazon will have one and will be able to ship to you.

Yippee a toilet thread.

As said easy to repair.
If you do buy a new one buy the Fresh Up Kit, comes with new seat, bathroom cleaner & chemical and it's cheaper than buying just the cassette.
Not all Fresh up kits come with the chemicals ... if you DO want them too you have to make sure you buy one with them (at extra cost of course!).
