I have purchased the optional LED strip light to fit to my Thetford slide out step, but the instructions don't show or explain where the 2 wires are connected to inside the step. Has anybody fitted one of these and could they kindly indicate where the wires are connected to? I am assuming that the light is supposed to come on either once the step starts to travel from fully stowed, or once the step is fully extended. Is the light then supposed to stay illuminated whilst the step remains extended, or should it/does it extinguish once the step has reached full outboard travel?
Looking at the wiring diagram for the step, it appears that perhaps the red (positive) wire from the LED is meant to be connected to the purple wire in the step, which is the positive switched supply controlled via the switch that commands the motor to extend the step. The black LED wire presumably just connects to earth via the brown wire in the step.
