Sold my SuperDuke R today, tomorrow’s another day. 😉
That’s it heading down the road with it’s new owner.

I sold my BMW GS last month. In past years I've done a few really good tours round Europe on it, but the quality of the riding over there kind of spoilt me and I got bored of riding here. Then between motorhoming and mountain biking, I just hadn't ridden the bike in ages. Limited time for hobbies!

So when we got our new MoHo and I could do with a bit of cash, it went. Got pretty good money for it from webuyanybike.

That does not look comfortable at all. When on our trips we tend to ride some long days 300 to 400 miles. I cannot even begin to imagine doing those miles on that. I would need to be lifted off at the end.

I know the pain. I sold my K1600GTL last year because with covid and having a Moho I didn’t use it much. I so miss it.

Bought a 20 plate R1250RT a couple of weeks ago so am a happy bunny again. ( wanted another K but they are now discontinued)

That Boxer engine gets some getting used to after the smooth six cylinder.

That’s not me, it is for me a very comfortable bike.

It's not an easy decision but you can't keep everything for ever. Anything exciting in mind to spend the money on...?
Yes, another one but special, see my next post. 😉

If you did you will be the first I have heard that from, they offered me £1500 less than I got private for my Duke 790.

Their automated system offered some stupid low value. I said flat out no. Then I got a call 2 weeks later asking me to email photos and promising a higher offer. The guy on the phone gave some lame excuse about my model not being registered properly, so the system automatically low-balled the offer. They increased the offer by £3k. And when they turned up, they stuck to the price too. It was pretty close to what private adverts I could find, but lower risk and low pressure. Yes, I was shocked too.

I used ‘we want your motorbike’ recently for my vstrom.
I was asking £4800 for it privately, they offered same and said remove all the extras, came out to it and knocked me down by just £100, so I was pleased with that. Just the hassle of selling centre stand, screen, top box, givi mount, etc.
Currently on there resale site for £6191, which I don’t think is too bad, they have to make a profit.
I paid £9500 for it new six years ago so I’m happy with the depreciation.

Sitting at home with a very badly broken leg ( 2 open fractures and dislocated ankle ) and dreading not being able to ride my Africa Twin when healed. Been riding bikes for 60 years so it would be dreadful to have to stop.

Leg injured in a ladder malfunction - much more dangerous than biking 😜
