The way ahead

Sounds good to me. I suppose the downside is that the ability to wild camp may well be removed once there are enough Aires.

This decision by HC has been going the rounds since last year. If they are so keen, why are they refusing planning permission to at least 4 projects - Bonar Bridge, Kinlochewe, Helmsdale, Kessock Bridge? At Bonar Bridge, they have sold the land to the local group but are refusing planning permission because of flooding issue objections from SEPA. I feel so sorry for these community groups who have worked so hard to plan and get funding and are then knocked back by the council.
Some of the ones going ahead, like Findhorn, are only available by pre-booking. If you have to pre-book, it isn’t an aire, it’s a campsite.
