The Simpson's Irish Raid.

We left Sevilla this morning and travelled to Écijar, probably unknown to most of you. It's just a little south of Córdoba not too big, with a council supplied motorhome area free of charge. All the services except electricity. Plenty of space when we arrived and we found a nice little tapas restaurant for lunch. The down side is that it's bloody hot, 35º as we speak so the air con is on again. But as we don't have EHU this time, I need to control the battery consumption. The town itself is nothing special, but the church looks rather nice and it's a peaceful spot, so here we stay.

Baños de la encina, Jaén. A very nice camping with all included for €20. Very clean, well looked after and friendly hosts. Plugged in but under the shade, do no solar power, meaning problems to keep the van cool as I have explained in another thread.

Today we travelled 150km to Puerto de Lápice in Castilla de la Mancha. A small town with a municipal area for €8,50 the night. This includes electricity which once again we need as the temperature is still at 35º at 7 in the evening. We ventured into the town for lunch and found a nice little terrace in the centre and had calamares and baby lamb chops with some cheese on the plancha for starters. A bottle of local plonk to wash it down and straight back to the van with the air conditioning at full blast. So happily, we are at around 22º while outside is 35º. I'll open a bottle of wine that's in the fridge cooling shortly. Tomorrow we move on to Pinto in the Madrid community and it will still be 35º apparently. We need to keep pushing to get to San Sebastián where for sure it will be cooler. Battery is at 70% as we speak, so Peavy will be happy to know that I am not suffering 'battery anxiety' today 😀

You are in for a bit of a shock when you reach Ireland lol. Having said that 35 degrees C is just too hot for me.

One of our much used Camperstops...quite often have it to ourselves...like the idea of only paying for what you need..

Even our recent heatwave wasn't anywhere near his cool 22°! 🤣

Yes, I thought that was pretty good too. We paid for one night, 6 and 2 for EHU plus a few cents, so all in 8,50. There is now one more van here, when we arrived we were alone.

looks nice but I’d be raiding the fridge overnight if that was all I had for my evening meal..
Eating times in Spain differ from the UK, the main meal is taken from 2pm this is Comida, this is the main meal eaten by many, including us..
In the evening a lighter meal nothing more than a snack for us is called Cena, this is what the OP is posting...a very tasty snack which can be a starter or tapas..🇪🇦😄

Arrived at a small private site today, in the Sierra de Madrid, €14 the night including EHU. When we got here the temperature was 30° but I cooked lunch and shortly after switched on the air conditioning. It then started to thunder..... and cloud over.... then the rain began. Temperature has dropped considerably, so air conditioning off and am now sat under the awning watching the rain ( yes, I'm weird like that) and drinking a whisky 🥃 😀

It's now pissing down 🌧️🌧️😀

Hailstones now and thunder every 2 minutes. Google assures me that hailstones need to be bigger than 1.5 inches before they destroy a solar panel. They're not that big, do I need to worry? Here's a photo, the lighter is for comparison as I have no bananas.

I love sitting under the awning watching the rain (when it's warm!)
