A favourite stopover of ours has seen a huge rise in visiting Motorhomes and are now restricting numbers. So for the info of members this just posted by the pub.

Glad I've seen this as we were planning a visit next week.

Always have a meal there as the food is good and prices reasonable.

This has been there policy for at least the last two month.

If anyone has stopped there recently, have the camping pods effected the MH parking spots?

Agree, the food is good, even from the £7.50 Light Bites menu (2 courses) and the staff are cheerful and helpful.

Like this place and no the pods have not affected the spaces !!! Must admit I got cross at the numbers who stayed and didn't eat..... think they should charge £20 and put in charity box for those not eating !!!

The car park was very full with motorhomes mid week last week (the gate was closed over around 6pm, not locked). Several of the pods were occupied and the respective cars were taking up 2 of the spaces.

Rang ahead last Friday to see if any availability and there were 20 vans there already so had to go elsewhere.

Surely this is a lesson as to what business we can bring to any pub or restaurant with a large and under used car park. It does seem a shame that so many use the facility without sampling the delicious food but perhaps those that didn't eat supported the bar.

I would have to objections to paying a reasonable charge which was deducted from the bar / restaurant bill, this would stop most of the freeloaders.

Completely agree, £20 is not a lot to ask, particularly if it’s redeemable at the bar.

Stayed at metal bridge (booked a meal) on the way to NC500, liked it so much we stayed on the way home. The food is good and they do John smiths for a bonus.
