Hi

I can thoroughly recommend this pub campsite. The pub is a 13th Century thatched building which has been tastefully updated. The brewery makes beer and cider. The food is gorgeous, with good veggie options. Locals use it a lot, which is always a good sign to me. Very clean showers and toilets.

There are 5 hardstandings, available all year round, and grass pitches with hookups. Some pitches will need levellers. The site is dog friendly, the landlady is a dog trainer. I understand there are lots of walks from the pub, but I have been using it while working in Yeovil in the winter, so haven't had chance to explore.

It has its own website. It also rents out rooms.

My sort of place! thanks for posting(y)

I have stopped there, cracking pub, food is good’

Lovely pub but a rather tight turn to access it. We managed without a problem but witnessed a newish Carthago take a chunk out of the offside rear end. But the helpful landlord assisted with the aid of good old gaffer tape as a temporary measure.

I'm afraid I don't know the handshake, will I still get served ? :)

Stayed there for Christmas a few years ago following a recommendation on here. Lovely place, lovely people.

Not only is the entrance tight but the campsite exit is very steep. In the event of snow or ice you would be obliged to stay until it thawed. Should you be lucky enough! :D2

I remember this Pub, from the 80`s and 90`s. Was getting to need a good updating by the time we left (`97). Damn tight getting in I agree, even with a Granada. More so if the locals park opposite!

A tight entrance will put a lot of people off, do they advise of a maximum length

Is it on Brit Stops or chargeable?

They discourage caravans because of the entrance. I had no problem with 7m of Hymer. Had a very enjoyable few days there.
