After my horn stopped working a few Months ago and the MOT is due next Month I thought I'd have a look to see if I could locate it and hopefully be a simple repair by replacing it and not have to muck about removing the steering wheel, although there's no airbag I didn't fancy pulling it of. 1st I removed the front grill, it's held on by 4 large screws which were rusted in, I even managed to bend two of the metal tags that hold a captive nut on the back. Once they're off simply lift the grill upwards. Next the nearside headlight, that's simple, just two screws, then pull the cable for the headlight connector. And there she is, looked brand new to me, very little corrosion and the two wires and connections weren't rusty either. Unscrewed the 10mm bolt holding the bracket and horn onto the chassis then took the horn inside and out a 12V supply to it, nothing, which was a good sign in my book. Got a trusty 12 inch adjustable spanner and gave a it (the horn) a good wack, tried the 12V again and I nearly poo'd my pants. Them horns are loud when right next to your ear. Refitted and double checked before fitting light and grill, all good, job well done, just wish it was easier to get to.
