I found this retro sewing kit in a charity shop and thought it was perfect for carrying in the motorhome.
I am curious to know what years the Auto Camping Club ran? Was anybody on here a member? Which district was 03943?

There's not much on Google but I have found this and it seems a bit interesting, very cheap camping.

Also found this but don't do Facebook so can't get any further.

The Auto Camping Club

www.acceastmidlands.co.uk

This club has been running for almost 50 years now and is essentially about getting camping, caravanning and motor-home enthusiasts together regionally at all kinds of social gatherings, rallies and parties and organising budget pitches for those events.

The essentials:

Cost –
£25 per year

Benefits – reduced insurance rates and discounted equipment.

Thanks to you all for passing on your knowledge.
The Auto Camping Club seems to be diminishing in size after 50 or so years in existence, which is surprising considering how the hobby has larger numbers now than ever. Maybe their membership has defected to Motorhome Fun?
It is very ambitious of them to run rallies once a fortnight.

My uncle - mr robin Brown designed the acc sign 60 years ago and I remember camping most weekends and having lovely memories of sitting around the flag pole at 10.00 am for coffee morning. We used to have fancy dress competitions and lots of fun. I am now 63 and still love my camping. It’s so nice to see the badge is still the same.

My family joined the ACC in 1976 when I was 10 years old. We belonged to Area 14 - which covered greater London and Lea Valley. We were away with the club as often as possible, even camping over Christmas at Motspur training park, London. We made lifelong, happy memories.

This thread lay dormant for almost 3 years so I was pleasantly surprised to see it resurrected.
I went to look for the sewing kit and now I can't find it anywhere. It has to be in the motorhome somewhere, but where? As my old Mum used to say, "it'll be in the last place you look".
Thanks to everyone for their contributions and memories.
