since 2006 ( I think ! )
So it seems a test is required to enter france from the UK now
As far as I get figure it the test can be an LF or PCR
All well and good but where and how can the test be done as it has got to be within 48 hrs of travel ?

What with the dog test etc I am about ready ti give up again

At the moment we are sailing at 11pm on Boxing Day so have our tests booked at Lloyd’s Pharmacy in Grimsby on Christmas Day morning at 9.30 with results after 15 minutes. As the tests are required for boarding the ferry this is well within the 48 hours required

Sainsbury's in store pharmacy at Newhaven, 5 minutes drive from the Ferry Terminal, offer the LFT with results in 20 minutes. Appointments were available for tomorrow, Tuesday, throughout the day when I looked on Saturday. Suspect many of those slots will have been taken by now, though.

Or have the tests delivered to home and do the test yourself and send / email result in for assessment and certificate if OK

Any good to you John?
Too far :) I have booked two tests at my local Lloyds.. Like other places a total rip off at £29.99 but at least its local

As Mikeco says, home tests are not allowed

Testinforall- do a LFT that you do at home, send then a photograph and they check it and send a certificate back in 5?? hours

mmmm the French government seem to think otherwise........!

Not allowed
Are you sure- I am going down this route next week. I am on a French second ome owners group and the Gorup Admin is very hot on such details- he said they are ok and I have trusted him on many issues. Have you got the guidance that says theyre not?

I think we are singing from the same hymn sheet/ interpret the regs the same- I get a bit frustrated when people sat that something is not acceptable without providing any further narrative or supporting evidence- there are a lot of people looking to travel and it is hard enough to do at the current time without having to deal with Fake News

linky please?
Sorry Ian, it took ages to find the info ( I went to the gov web site and followed various links until I came up with a French gov site that listed updates and requirements.. Buggered if I can find it again now

All these rules and regs are driving me batchy.. Maureen actually cried when I said we have to do tests ad wanted to give in ( bit like me to be honest ) but I have booked the tests now so hopefully she will just accept what we have to do and get on with it..

But basilcally Ian, canna find the link mate.. again, sorry....

If you are happy to trust your mate then go ahead, I would rather trust the travel information for France on our own Government’s website. I’m not providing a link, it’s easy enough to find.

My point is that you have said to people that this type of testing is not acceptable when it is,- but you choose not to provide a link (I would class that as scaremongering). For clarity I will-

https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/en/c...avirus-advice-for-foreign-nationals-in-france (this is the French Government site- I would always check the advice of the country I was visiting)

Using an NHS LFT is NOT permitted, but using a LFT that you then send details to the Company who then provide a certificate is permitted (such as Testingofrall and many others)

I stand corrected, and apologise .. I simply read it wrong.. sorry

The UK Government site says you cant use the self administered test for travel to France.

COVID-19 entry requirements

From 00:00 CET 4 December (23:00 GMT 3 December), fully vaccinated travellers (aged 12 years or over) travelling from outside of the European Union to France must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test result from either a PCR or antigen test. Tests must be taken no more than 48 hours before travel for vaccinated travellers and no more than 24 hours before travel for those who are not fully vaccinated. Self-administered tests are not accepted. HGV and van drivers arriving in France from the UK are not required to provide a negative COVID-19 test to enter France. Consult the French Embassy in the UK website and the French government’s website for further information. We will update these pages as soon as further details are confirmed

That’s not a problem- it seems to change every day and can be confusing. It will be different again tomorrow:LOL:
