We have recently started collecting Tesco vouchers with the intention of swopping them in for ET crossing, please could someone let me know if we can save a number of individual Tesco vouchers and swop them for 1 ET crossing voucher or do you have to swop 1 Tesco for 1 ET voucher. I appreciate the Tesco vouchers have a shelf life so to that extent I have to do the swop before they each expire. It's just that the ET sites say you can only use 1 voucher per trip, it doesn't say if its 1 ET or 1 Tesco.

Thanking you in anticipation.

You use as many tesco vouchers as you like to get 1 eurotunnel voucher.

There are a couple of little rules about using Tesco vouchers which to us were not immediately obvious. Best advice we'd give is phone EuroTunnel and ask them about the whole process.

One of the things you can do is ring 'My Clubcard' at Tesco to get 'about to expire' vouchers cancelled and new ones issued to replace em. Only thing is you don't receive the new ones until your next lot of vouchers is sent to you, which is 3 monthly - so you can't spend em until after that.

just booked with euro tunnel for our ski trip- new system a bit tricky [ok that Was Me being dumb...]
It is One ET voucher per crossing .
You change the points vouchers you have amassed on the Tesco website for 3 x their face value using the travel voucher option -selecting Eurotunnel.[other travel options available]
They then send you an email with instructions on how to use this . You have to first look on ET website to get the details of when you want to cross - this will also tell you how much that trip will be; then phone ET on the number given and swap the Tesco vouchers for [part of ]the fare. You cant get a refund so we always have a small balance to pay.
You cant use two separate vouchers for one crossing; we save the points until just before we want to use them.
The voucher for ET travel is valid for a longish time after they send it to you - ours was valid until May 21st got it 19th Nov.

I always go to the Eurotunnel site first to choose my crossings and get a price but DON'T PURCHASE YOUR TICKET THERE! You need to call a dedicated phone line, which actually only seems to ask the same questions as the web booking page, to actually buy the ticket which is then emailed to you with full instructions.

When you log on to the Tesco Clubcard Rewards website, you firstly need to specify how much you wish to exchange for a Eurotunnel voucher, in £5 increments, bearing in mind the voucher itself will be worth 3 times that amount i.e. £55 of ordinary vouchers will get you a £165 Eurotunnel voucher. You don't get any change so you need to choose a final amount that is below the value you need and pay the difference. Note that you can't pay for pet crossings with Tesco vouchers.

When you continue to the "payment" page there is a list of your Tesco vouchers that their system says you haven't yet used. However we've found that it doesn't always include the paper vouchers you get quarterly, especially if it's for a different name (we've had no problems using vouchers in either of our names). Enter each voucher code which will then appear in the list (unless it's already there - that threw me the first time) and tick it's box. Repeat until you've covered the cost.

Tesco now offer the facility of using earned Clubcard points where a paper voucher hasn't yet been issued and these should also appear on the payment page.

One last thing - the instructions tell you but you need to pre-register your crossing with Customs & Immigration giving details of al travellers - there's a link in the email with the ticket reference.

It sounds a bit confusing but, as with many things, just doing it is actually pretty easy.

And the voucher does not cover dogs(should you have one).

Many Many Thanks to all responders, all comments and tips are noted for when we acquire the ET voucher.

One other thing to bear in mind you can only book a single outwards crossing or return crossings, but you cannot book a single inward crossing on its own. This means that if you want to use them for both your outward and inward journeys when you ring you MUST book the return leg when you book the outgoing one.

Also - you have to book 14 days in advance if using Tesco Vouchers

That's a MINIMUM of 14 days in advance (not wishing to be pedantic of course!) ;)

Not to be pedantic ? but accurate, and pedantic, are two different things. ?

I wish I had seen the other phone number before I booked. 15 minute phone call...£11 in charges . Bloody furious to say the least.

I might have got the wrong end of the stick on this one but;
Tesco wouldn't talk to me (electronically) via their website re Channel crossings and vouchers because it knew??? that I was not in the country at the time I enquired.

Words need to be said when I get back to UK.
Why should the fact that I am not in the UK have any bearing on enquires.?

Ive been caught out a couple of times in France needing to change the booked time/ day
you have to phone to do that if you use tesco vouchers and it’s not a 24hour line!

Has anyone managed to cancel their Eurotunnel booking with Tesco Clubcard vouchers on the non premium rate number 01303282061 - just getting unobtainable this morning.

Well got offered a voucher to use by the November this year at that would be a year from when I booked.

Wouldn't give a refund but sent me a link to the complaints form. Complaint made.

We'll see what happens

Yes I have, phoned them up vouchers refunded no problem. Then phoned Eurotunnel and got a refund for the dog. The vouchers were back on my statement within 5 days.

If you use the chat facility on Eurotunnel and lay it on a bit you can, like us, cancel this year's trip tho Tunnel with Tesco vouchers and get a Eurotunnel voucher valid for the cost of your trip to use next year.

Finally got through to Eurotunnel. Only issuing vouchers for refund, web chat got the validity of the vouchers wrong, however the call center dealing with Tesco vouchers only have authority to issue issue refunds as vouchers. you have to complain via the contact form on the web to escalate it. I was told there are only two people dealing with the email at the moment as well.

I thought that once you've got your ET return tickets (using Tesco vouchers), you deal directly with ET via their website for any alterations to the return leg.

All changes for travel with Tesco Vouchers have to go through the call center.

Got a reply from my complaint about not refunding the our crossing.

They have again said they will not refund the crossing but I have until November, one year from the booking to use it or loose it.
