Tarifa diaries. Visited Punta Paloma (in the hire car) this afternoon. Its a large sand dune constantly on the move, council have a bulldozer sited here as it requires constant daily digging out to keep the road which dissects it open. Its quite a special place nowhere else like it in Europe. Holiday weekend so road not fully cleared and a good covering of sand. Couple of cars coming down toward us so I stopped and waited at bottom for them to pass, Spanish plated newish jag behind us decides hes in a hurry so sets off, gets to the cars impossible to tell where sides of road are under the sand two wheels off the road and hes stuck. More cars appear and luckily for him they all bailed out and pushed him back on the road. At that point I along with several others behind watching the performance did multi point turns and headed back the way. To many visitors sightseeing in the area to risk getting stuck. There is a campsite a short distance from the dune for anyone visiting, its quite an experience.
