My belovered was taking a shower.Splash and dash.😁.Turned tap of then when she turned back on the pump didn't restart.Tried other taps and nothing happened. Gave pump a tap and all been ok.Any ideas what could have caused this.wondering if the pressure switch could be playing up.Noticed the other day if tap only turned on a bit the pump pulsated.

In those circumstances it's normal.
the pump pressure is only just being released and when the pressure has dropped enough the pump will start but as the pressure is still fractionally below the switching point it will repressure in a brief moment then the cycle begins again.

As for not starting.... It probably was just a stuck microswitch and maybe never do it again.

The pressure switch is not really complicated and they do have a tendency to stick occasionally

Our pump started to work intermittently. The bash the pump method had mixed results so I had a closer look and found the connections on the switch at the bottom were badly corroded. I changed the connectors but noticed the pump was slightly damp around the diaphragm and around the switch connections.
Rather than rebuilding the pump and curing the leak as I did on our other van I fitted a new pump for peace of mind.

Thanks for the answers. I dont have micro switches. Just pressure switch on surflow pump.Seems to be behaving itself. So hopefully no more screaming from the shower from my belovered.🤣

To clarify the pump on ours is a Surflow . Why is it management are always the ones that find faults. Mine got to the shampoo in the hair stage when it packed in the first time. Trying to get the floor out of the wardrobe whist she was still dripping was done in record time. I had already been under there for something else so I knew the plot.

The trick my friend, Carry a spare!. I have the parts of about 5 kicking about. My first R-V seemed to want to "eat" them. Until I fitted a larger capacity one. So I carry one in a dark corner made from parts of several "just in case". Mine being just under the seat above the tank, takes about 15Min to swop out. Pressure switches are favourite failures followed by Diaphragms. I often wonder if using high chlorine/bleach concentrations for cleaning and sanitising affects those?. (not the P-S) you can`t be sure what previous owners have used?.

Cheers Pete H.Ive had van from New. Replaced diaphragm a few years ago.I think will strip it down and have a good look at it.And I've been thinking of getting a spare as backup.
