A stupid question from a newbie about navigation in the Forum …

Suppose I start in Motorhome Chat, P1 then P2.

I want to read a Thread - P1, P2, then P3.

So how do I now navigate from back from Thread P3 to Chat P2?

If I use the browser back button, it takes me back through Thread P2, P1 then to Chat P2. But next time I read that same Thread it’s “forgotten” my position and takes me to P1 of the Thread.

If I click on the “Motorhome Chat” link at the bottom of the page, it takes me to Chat P1 (not Chat P2).

Either require further navigation to where I was at.

So, is there a “correct” way to navigate back from an Thread to the Forum page I left without losing my position in the thread?

The way the forum works is thwarting your attempts to have a known position.

The forum will use a cookie - I assume - to remember what post you last read. When it believes you are up-to-date, it will clear the post position so you go to post 1 of page 1 next time.

A lot of us use the "What's New" view of the forum, and this "where was I last" cookie thing means we can goto the 1st unread post by clicking on the thread (A). To go to the newest message you'd click on the right side link (B)

There are page navigation tools at the top & bottom of threads.

Thanks, that's really useful to know.
