I need to access the 2x95Ah hab batteries that live under the drivers seat in my x290 Globecar PVC, but I am having issues removing the seat swivel Base,

I've managed to remove the seat from the Base by undoing the 2xT40 bolts at the front of the seat track and 4x bolts at the rear, disconnect the airbag and earth wire and lifting the seat off.

With the seat removed,
Ive removed the 2xT40 bolts at the front of the swivel, plus the 2xT40 bolts at the offside rear of the swivel, plus the rear most T40 bolt at the rear of the inboard swivel. That is all that obviously fixes the swivel to the frame. But it appears fixed by one further rear bolt on the inboard side in front of the rear most inboard bolt

it appears There is a mushroom headed bolt that stops the seat from rotating more than 180deg that is accessible via an access hole that lines up over a bolt to allow a socket to undo it.

Is this correct, and what size is the bolt! I think it measures at 20mm using my vernier, but as usual, I don't have a 20mm spanner or socket.

Before I buy a new socket, can anyone confirm this mushroom headed bolt indeed comes out with a socket and that it is a 20mm socket I require?
Thanks in advance

Absolute beginners.
A photo of the whole assembly might help, certainly on my 2019 fiat chassis it came away with the seat assembly.

Hi G,

This is the one, below:

I have it all documented on this forum but I just can't find the page. I can't recall if it's 20, 21 or 22mm.

You need to get the correct spanner, then loosen it, swivel it until there is a circular hole which allows you to remove it. On mine there are two further nuts to undo on the underside of the swivel. After that it's easy.

thats the one!
ok, so it is a threaded bolt !
there is a hole in the rotating top plate that i can get a socket onto it - ive ordered a 20mm socket - it is too tight for a spanner safely and i don't want to burr the edges or amputate a finger if it slips...
thanks!!

im certain it is 20mm.. (i measured the opposing faces with a vernier caliper) typical.... as i have a 19mm socket and a 21mm socket, but not a 20mm one! the 19mm is just too small and the 20mm just too large... need the goldillocks 20mm

i can get a socket onto the top of it via the hole ....
i'll look out for the 2 additional nuts on the underside.... (whereabouts are they?)

As an aside, but on the same subject, when I followed the excellent instructions on removing the seat base available on this Forum, I didn't pay enough attention to where the black earth wire was connected. On reassembly, I just clamped it with the bolt at the point indicated by the yellow arrow but I have a feeling that isn't where it ewas originally sited. If you know the correct the siting from looking at your set up, could you let me know?

Yip, that is not the correct place,
There is a threaded stud on the underside of the offside seat frame in the place approx shown by red circle.
That is where the earth is bolted to.
I'll take a proper photo when I go back out to undo the bolt

Looking at the above photos, just to the front of the red circle. One either side. Easy to undo with a socket.

I wonder if this is the same threaded stud the earth cable is bolted to? (That the red circle was trying to illustrate)
