Storm Amy

Glad to see the ferries starting to leave Stranraer now at last after been stuck here since early Friday morning and good to see we're in for a nice smooth crossing at least......🤔🤣🤣

Just passing the Cornwall “coming home” trees. Glad we delayed 24 hours. Having not driven a motorhome in the wind before even the 40mph gusts this morning were a bit unnerving. Truck drivers must have forearms like Popeye to drive in that all the time 💪. Only 45 miles to go. Enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone 🍻

Shap by any chance?
I believe you're in the right area if my memory serves me well! Cross winds weren't the main issue, it was a south westerly gale which would hit you at 45 degrees acting as a wedge. Taking the foot off the accelerator was the order of the day. It was quite a night (y)

Going over Brough and Shap was always where we got stranded in the snow in the 'good old days' before Motorways!
At least Brough had a cafe can't remember one over Shap! 🤔
