Stopover around thirsk

Heading over to Scarborough next weekend to watch racing at Oliver's mount. Any recomendations for stopovers around thirsk

Thirsk race course allows stopovers. I think it’s a C&MC cl type site.
If there’s horse racing on, they move you off the usual area to a different area as the horse boxes and trucks park up there.

Go to Pickering Red Bear Bike shop next to Lidl. Full serviced Aire in their car park £12. Bang in the middle of town

There’s parking for motorhomes at Helmsley. We’ve been there a couple of times and there were quite a few other MHs there. It’s quiet and we felt safe. Helmsley is a lovely town.

I stayed here a couple of years ago on the Sunday night after the meeting. Didn't need to book. Camping field next to pub\brewery. I'd stay here again in preference to parking overnight at Oliver's Mount. http://www.newinncropton.co.uk/

Just googled it, may stay there Sunday night on way back, stay at Oliver's mount on Saturday for Sunday racing

If you havn't already got refillable gas bottles why not call in at AutoGas and ask for demo. Brilliant people and you can stay overnight in their car park if they do them for you.

slight aside but just a thought.
