Just noticed SCOUT talking about the operation of his step and that it doesn't operate off the fob... I am sure I have read somewhere in the Autotrail 'blurb' that the way it operates can be changed by moving the "jumpers" in the EM50 box ((The one that JAWS has been repairing)) If the jumpers are taken out and put into different holes, then the 'when' and 'when not' of the steps 'out' and 'in' can be varied...
I have never tried this, as my step works when and how I want it to, which is with the fob when locking and unlocking the hab door..
Hope this makes sense and is correct.. Pretty sure though.. Mitch..

Yes.. unsure about your model but if is has the EM50 control box fitted ( as well as the usual large charger box ) then there are jumpers in the lid to set the step in and out as well as the awning light auto on :)

There are only three jumpers and all are clearly marked
There is only two positions for each one.. Either on or off , so quite easy to work it all out
