I have a day crossing later this month to Hook of Holland (09:00 Dep), can anyone who has done a recent crossing advise if they still allow overnight parking the night before in the entrance lanes area. I noticed this last year and would like to make use of this park up before my morning crossing. Do you need to tell anyone why your parked?
Cheers

Just park up along the fence and join the boarding lanes in the morning.

We parked at the side of the lanes overnight last year and are doing so again soon, toilets in waiting room open till about 10.

As MisterB said, park by the fence on the far side. Last time we were there they do have no parking signs up but when we asked we were told all good and have never had a problem, sometimes it can be a little noisy with the trucks going past but overall a safe place to park.

Thanks to all for the confirmation

Hi, just done it ….
Park away from the port and drive in , take food and a flask and buy the WiFi 4 € !
Cabin a bargain at £25 !

Yes overnight parking allowed crossed 2 weeks ago and returned last Friday and parked up on the return to Harwich as well no problem at all.

We use the Bricklayers Arms in Little Bentley. About 10 minute drive, village setting so very quiet. (port can be a bit noisy with night crossing) Does food too. Usually several other motorhomes there. Just ring to let them know you are coming.

I've never taken the van that route but I use Harwich with the car most years and always see vans parked for the night away from the check in lanes. You can also park along Marine Parade, Dovercourt Beach.
